Privacy The online safety and privacy of our members is very important to us. With this in mind we will endeavour to hold to the following values; 1. We will not sell, hire or allow your email address to be used by a third party for any marketing or mass mailing campaign. 2. Your email address and any other personal details will automatically be withheld from any posting on the site concerning you, without your direct authority to the contra. 3. No cookies generated by this site will be used for any purpose other than site administration 4. If you think we have missed anything or have any concerns, talk to us. Spam There are only a few things we will say on this subject 1. Any spam sent to any email address referred to on this site will be traced, reported and face an administration fee of fifty british pounds. 2. If the spammer is a list member, they will be removed and banned from the list and their details circulated to other list owners. 3. This policy has been applied to another list and both sending and receiving domains have been reported to. So far, the success rate has been over 94% 4. We have no compunction over handing spammers details over to their service providers, ethical hackers or email-bombers. 5. Spam costs Acceptable User Policy & Statement. The list owner, editor and moderators of Remote Support Medics Online Hi Folks, As the list and site grow from strength to strength, and we gather new members from varied backgrounds, we thought it prudent to issue this statement to ensure the continued good nature and high quality of the postings presented on the list. Ross and myself have discussed the matter and want to make it clear that whilst neither of us want to lay down rules, we do want to insure that list continues in same manner in which it has so far. Therefore I would like to remind you of the following points, when using the Remote Support Medics List; 1. Abusive behaviour or slander The nature of the list encourages debate; along with this a certain amount of friendly banter and Mickey taking will undoubtedly be present. This is only natural and something we encourage which is good. However personal abuse and directed foul language and or nasty and abusive comments will result in the sender being removed from the list and their details shared with other list owners. 2. No 'them and us' threads. Many other similar lists have dissolved into endless and unresolved arguments about private, public, military and voluntary services, generally about who has the right to use what title etc. Please help us by nipping these pointless debates in the bud early. Repeated them and us postings will result in the sender having all their postings moderated before being released to the list. Second offensives of the above will again result in the senders' removal from the list. 3. Spamming The list is a closed list and members are vetted or subscribed on trial. Therefore any spam has to come from within. It is fair play to advertise course places, second hand equipment, relevant job vacancies and related sites etc. Even a subtle mention of what you do and who you work for as part of your signature are acceptable. Providing it is relevant to the Remote Medic field. We will however not tolerate get rich schemes, email address CDs, irrelevant products and services etc, and especially pornography. Remember many of the members will receive the list messages via their employers email service and as such are subject to their companies IT and disciplinary procedures. At the end of the day, the list owner, editor and moderator do not want to act as policemen, however for the protection of the majority and the continued goodwill of the list we must have an acceptable user policy. We want to protect the value of the group for all members current and future. If you have any questions regarding the list and its use please feel free to contact us one of us directly. Thank you for your time and consideration, Ian Sharpe - Listowner Ross Boardman - Editor
